[57North] [IMPORTANT] Fire extinguishers

All,
There was an incident yesterday when an elderly power supply blew, letting
a lot of "magic smoke" escape - while there was no fire, the incident
served as something of a wake-up call.

It became apparent that the space does not contain a working fire
extinguisher, fire blanket, appropriate signage etc. Given the nature of
the work which we do in the space, I believe this should be remedied as a
matter of urgency. While there is an extinguisher available on the landing
below, we should ensure we have one more readily available, and that it is
of the correct category.

I suspect that providing and maintaining these would be our responsibility
rather than the landlord - either way, we should ensure that this gets
sorted asap.

Is there anyone on the list who has an H&S background who can advise on
exactly what is needed? I would expect at a very minimum we should have:

 * 1 large carbon dioxide extinguisher
 * 1 fire blanket
 * Appropriate signage

Unless someone has ready access to these items (or whatever is deemed
appropriate), I'll take a look in Costco tonight to see what they have in
stock.

Cheers,
Calum
