Just to complete this thread: the webcam has now been unplugged for a
while. At some point I might get round to stopping the daemon that tells
you the webcam is unplugged (and might even tidy up the page on the
website that serves that up). 

There are still vague plans (others may have definite plans...) to build
some streaming/recording  stuff for talks done in the space if anyone
wants to help with that: please speak up.
